Christmas is fondly known as a time to relax and celebrate with friends and family, indulging in those little things, which become embedded and relished as part of our festive tradition. Mince pies, mulled wine, pigs in blankets, and turkey are just a small selection of some of these seasonal pleasures enjoyed by many of us here in the UK. Arguably this most exciting time of the year leaves us seeking new things (presents!) as well as new taste sensations.

Pedro Ximénez, also known as PX, is a white Spanish wine variety grown in several Spanish wine regions. It is used to produce a varietal wine, an intensely sweet, dark, dessert sherry, perfect for dousing all over your Christmas pudding, adding a pleasant sweetness of raisins and molasses to your palette, or alternatively it may act as a lovely accompaniment to drink with your Christmas pudding. This really is a hidden gem and may be purchased from most of the major supermarkets, Majestic and online retailers including the likes of Ocado and Amazon. Give it a try, and who knows, it may even make it into your Christmas traditions in the future!

Finally, from all of us here at Outsource12, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a word of advice, don’t go too mad on the PX!
